Northern Railway Pension Adalat

One of the 17 railways zones of India which is headquartered in New Delhi is on the way to regulate its Northern Railway Pension Adalat (a relevant occasion for retired/ ex-servicemen). The plan came into talks in a meeting of SCOVA (Standing Committee of Voluntary agencies) on 21st December 1993 and the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOP&PW) and prepared some key standards according to which the Adalat (also named as Pensioners Grievances Tribunal) supervised every year on 15th December. The hardships/ objections/ complaints must be filed by dependents before 31st October as per the norms of Ministry.

Northern Railway Pension Adalat to be arranged on 15th December

The Adalat would be in action in working hours on 15/ 12/ 2017 in the Northern Railways headquarters, Baroda House (near the India Gate), New Delhi and all of its governing five divisions (out of the 73 divisions of Indian Railways) consists of Moradabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Firozpur, and Ambala.

Adjudication of Grievances: The retired employees who were deployed in the Headquarters of the Zone would be assisted, and their problems would be resolved by the heads chaired in Baroda House. Complaints should be tendered to Dy.CPO/HQ/Northern Railway. Sr.DPO of a division will accept the objections of the employees of respective units. Those retired from workshops will follow the same and contact the Sr.DPO of the division grounded and operating the workshops.

Important Note: The envelope bearing the letter for complaint must be super-scribed by “PENSION ADALAT – 2017”.

According to the protocols, the Adalat would also be attended by senior officers as well – General Managers/ Addl. General Managers/ Chief Personal Officers etc. Administrators of Banks and other pension distributing authorities can also attend the event.

Another vital guideline states that “All the justifiable grievances should be concluded on the spot at the Pension Adalat and if a complaint comprises a dilemma which would take time then it must be settled within three months from the date of the episode.”
