Indian Institutes of Technology Admissions, IIT Entrance Exam 2019: Application Form, Admit Card, Answer Key, Results, Merit List & Passing Marks in JEE Mains & JEE Advanced: The Joint Admission board have decided on Sunday to make the Indian Institutes of Technology(s) entrance examination online. From 2018, students will be able to take the JEE advanced exam through online mode only. Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthi and Director, IIT Madras said that the “It has been decided that the Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced) would be conducted in online mode from 2018. Further information regarding this issue would be provided by JAB later”. The Joint Admission Board which is the IIT policy-making body took this decision on Sunday in a meeting in Chennai.

A member of Joint Admission Board said that “in order to make the logistics and evaluations easier, the concept of conduction of JEE advanced via online mode was chosen by the board”. This concept was in process for many years but it was necessary to have a proper infrastructure and planning to make the test online”, the member added.

The HRD (Human Resource Development) Ministry have earlier introduced a concept for an online option in JEE Mains. Joint Entrance Examination is a test through students gets admissions to various engineering institutions throughout the Country. Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the Mains exam.

Earlier this year, HRD Ministry issued two major decisions, one is, there is no inclusion of weightage of 12th class percentage and the second one is, the candidates who are going to appear for the JEE examination (Mains or Advanced) for admissions in NITs/ IIT/s IITs and such other CFTIs should be scored 75% or higher in the 12th Board examinations. For SC/ ST candidates, qualifying marks are 65 percent or above.

A few days back, Union Higher Education Secretary Kewal Kumar Sharma also informed about the 2,000 central fellowships of Rs 70,000 for the PhD Researchers from Indian Institute of Technology(s) and from Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
